The heart of the Noosa area is Noosa Heads and Noosa Main Beach. Noosa Main Beach is one of the only north facing beaches on the east coast, meaning calmer waters and low surf, so ladies, there’s less chances of losing your bikini top in the waves! Apart from working on your tan, there’s heaps of fun to be had in Noosa Heads. The main drag of Hastings Street is the centre of the action, lined with open-air cafes, great restaurants, designer and boutique shops. Just south of Noosa Heads is Noosaville, here you’ll find more cafes, restaurants and boutique stores along Gympie Terrace and overlooking the tranquil Noosa River.
Being calm and protected and super popular, Noosa Main Beach can sometimes get pretty busy. So if you’re looking for a less crowded beach, you’re in luck, with Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach and Castaways Beach all close nearby. And bonus- part of Sunshine Beach is dog friendly, so your furry friend can get their tan on too.
Had enough swimming, shopping and eating? Really? Well, there’s still plenty to do in the region. Head to the beautiful Noosa National Park at Noosa Heads and explore the walking trails that lead to secluded beaches and coves. There’s also some offer spectacular views of Laguna Bay and the Coral Sea from the park that are totes Instagram worthy! For the brave (or should we say cheeky?) there’s even a nudist beach at Alexandria Bay on the eastern side of the national park. If you’re not up for too much walking, hire a boat, jet ski or kayak and spend the day exploring the Noosa River and surrounding canals and the mansions that line them.
Located 20 minutes inland from Noosa is the small town of Eumundi, home to the famous Eumundi markets, Australia’s premier artisan market which has been running since 1979. The markets are on Wednesdays from 8am to 1.30pm and Saturdays from 7am til 2pm. With over 500 stalls selling artworks, furniture, toys, homewards, skincare and fashion, as well as local produce and delicious fresh food, the market’s motto is “make it, bake it, sew it or grow it” you’ll be bound to come home with a gem.
So for a holiday that is jam packed full of fun but still relaxing and chilled, grab your bikini, BFF and book from our range of our Noosa Surrounds accommodation stat!
